Where Locals Gather & Travelers Stay, Since 1888.

Some places are just somewhere to sleep. The Eagle House is somewhere you’ll never forget.

Since 1888, this lovingly restored Victorian landmark has stood steps from Humboldt Bay, watching Old Town Eureka come alive around it. Today, it's still the heartbeat of the community — 23 stunning rooms and suites, live music echoing through the Grand Theatre Ballroom, craft cocktails in Phatsy Kline's Parlor Lounge, and mornings that begin with the cool, crisp air of the Northern California coast. Whether you're chasing redwoods, planning a dream wedding, or simply ready to disappear somewhere beautiful — you've found your place.

HISTORY

This impressive Old Town Eureka landmark began as the dream of Finnish emigrants Henry and Elvira Tornroth in 1886, when the couple first built a hotel and restaurant on the corner of 2nd and C streets in Eureka. They named it the Eagle House.
